The term for sale by owner, or FSBO, is a term used to describe a real estate transaction where a house or property is sold directly by the owner, without the help or interference of a real estate broker. This means that with a for sale by owner, there is no real estate commission that is involved in the sale.

For sale by owner has grown in popularity in the past few years where people market, buy and sell real estate without having any real estate agent representing them.
